Equipo Crónica was founded in 1965 in Valencia by the artists Rafael Solbes, Manuel Valdés and Juan Antonio Toledo. Toledo left the group shortly after their first exhibition. The remaining artists Solbes and Valdés were active together until 1981. They said goodbye to informal art and turned to figurative painting within Pop Art. In a critical manner, the two artists addressed the political situation in Spain, as well as the history of art and the position of the artist himself.
